A busy-ish week...

I had a good week...except being sick one day. I was busy working hard at the new job all week didn't really do allot in the evenings.

Friday night I was privileged enough to join Jacob & Nicole to celebrate Nicole's best friend Kerry's birthday! We went to a place called Lux which is owned by long time Oiler, Ryan Smyth. Really cool place and surprisingly not bad prices. We had a drink and chatted which was great.

Saturday and Sunday were half and half working on the house and relaxing days. It was good. I will try to make the posts a bit more interesting from now on.

Thanksgiving...at Judy & Jay's

That's right! Turkey dinner number 3!

I went with my best friend, Jacob, and my cousin, Nicole, (they are engaged) too a family friend of Jacob's. It was a good dinner, good company, and and nice way to cap off my Turkey delighted weekend!

So it was back to work today with the first signs of snow and sub zero temperatures! I haven't seen that in over three years! Not unless you count my travels...but none compare to a Canadian winter. I just hope I can prepare myself, mentally & physically, before the real cold appears!

Thanksgiving...at the Devon campgrounds!

Turkey dinner number 2!

I spent this afternoon/evening having a campfire Turkey dinner! I went with Jacob and Nicole to meet up with my Uncle Dan & auntie Karen who did the full weekend camping. I met Paul and Diane Riopel and Bruce (Last Name?) and his three kids! It was a good time and we had the full turkey dinner with all the fixings! Yummy!

We sat around the camp fire and chatted before we got colder then expected and we (Jacob, Nicole & I) came home!

Thanksgiving...at my brothers!

Turkey dinner number 1...

I think for the first time in a long time we ate a Thanksgiving meal somewhere other then at my parents house! My brother John and his fiance Lorie hosted a terrific meal for us. The food was great, the company was just as good, and we all left a few pounds heavier!

It was my first time being at John & Lorie's house since I moved back and it is very nice. We had a good time watching the hockey game and making fun of each other which is a unwritten rule in our family. It was lots of fun.

I hope everyone has a spectacular Thanksgiving weekend!

My first week...

Well it is true I have started working but not exactly the job I wanted. I had a really good first week. I learned allot and enjoyed getting to know a bit about this industry. It is really good money so I can't complain. It has been long hours but really good. I figure the skills I am learning are good ones. Wish me luck!

Back to work...

Well after a nice month off I was back to work today. I started training with RonCo. Doors. I will be installing shower & closet doors and shelving for them. The money as a sub-contracting is amazing and I am looking forward to learning these new skills plus updating the house will be way cheaper with a discount! I will keep you updated as my training continues.

A Weekend in Elnora...

I never heard of it either until I had a friend who moved out there to work on a nearby farm. This small town is Corner Gas small. One store, One bar, a few houses, but no gas!

It was a two hour drive from Edmonton so wasn't too bad. It is really close to the Red Deer River which had some absoloutely beautiful views out there.

Elnora, Alberta is about 60km east of Red Deer. It is a little off the beaten path but it was neat to be somewhere where I had never been before. I will post a pic another time...
