Some Great News!

Today I received some great news! I am now the Marketing Assistant for the second largest cinema chain in Europe!

Cineworld Cinemas gave me an interview this morning at 11am and by this afternoon at 4pm they had offered me the job!

It is a step in the right direction in an industry I have loved all my life. With this experience and more to come I want to move further and deeper into the world of film.

Just some great news I felt I needed to share with all!

Harry Potter...and the Goblet of Fire

Well Trevor (my brother, yes he is visiting me in London) and I went to see Harry Potter before the rest of the world last night. I have to say that it was, by far, the best one yet. I have not read the books but the stories are definitely getting darker and more mature. I can only look forward to the next one and hope they can keep all the same actors for all of the movies. It has already set itself as a series of classic films that will be seen by generations to come.
I recommend this film to anyone who enjoys a little escape into a world of magic and mystery. It is a good humored and strong script. You might enjoy it!

Oktoberfest 2005 & Me

This was me at Oktoberfest 2005 back in September...

I know! At first I thought it would be in October but to my surprise it wasn't...I planned the trip earlier this year. The highlights of this trip were taking an impromptu trip to Amsterdam due my brothers (Trevor) hotel in Dubai not waking him up and making him miss his flight to meet Amber (Trevor's girlfriend) and myself. Well that was at the very least an interesting experience! In our rented VW Van we made our way down the Autobahn quite quickly to Nuremberg (pretty town). This is where we met up with Slawek and friends and made our way to Oktoberfest. Drinking ensued and 7 Liters later we stumbled our way back to the hostel. After exploring Munich for a day or two, Trev, Amber, and myself wandered on down to Austria to see the very famous Cinderella's Castle (well the real one Disney copied!). Trev and I then drove to Berlin, Amber has this thing about sleeping in cars at all times...makes me wonder how she drives anywhere! It was a long drive but it was a awesome drive and got to see lots of Germany too! Berlin was a different city...the graffiti didn't just litter the Berlin Wall (or whats left of it) but seemed to spill, or more so explode on to every building, road, bus stop, man, women and child...it was everywhere! Not an exciting city in September but very interesting to see both sides of the wall and the difference in style.

Ahhhh...Duetschland...das ist wunderbar!

How much doth one love Hockey...

Hockey season is upon us once again

The puck drops as the game begins

Players hold strong to their positions

Fans arriving from the concessions

As one and all rise up to cheer

That feeling of love for the game becomes clear

Knowing the strength of this sport in this nation

Looking around is an awesome sensation

We hope and pray for the final prize

We stand strong behind our guys

Through the good, bad and ugly

We boast of our boys smugly

It is all about the experience felt

When your favorite players are dealt

The outrage and violation

Is passed over by a new transaction

You swear when one of the boys gets hurt

You swear by the powers of your favorite shirt

Your jersey sports your number and name

Oddly your favorite player has the same

Lord Terrence Lister the Mighty Giant

I have had two interesting (at least) things happen to me since moving to London. One of them was becoming an actual Lord! I am now officially Lord Terrence Lister of Loch Borralan! A mate of mine has passed the title on to me...even though it is Scottish I found it quite cool indeed.

The other interesting thing was joining a minority group...

I know this will probably get a laugh but I am legally a Giant! Any male with a height of 6'7" or 201cm is considered a Giant or vertically endowed and there IS a society of us! I don't know what the height for females is but they are tall (say the average being around 6'1")!

Interesting, eh?

Attack of the Giant Blog

I am following my brother's lead and starting my very own blog to update people about what I think (which changes day to day) and keep you filled in on what I am up to! I hope you respond with some comments every now and then...
